Alabama’s recruitment target list is set to become even more difficult this summer as the Tide begins recruiting in earnest, with three of the top five programs from the state set to be in the hunt.
Auburn is the top school that Alabama is targeting in 2021, followed by Texas A&M, Georgia and Florida.
The Crimson Tide are set to announce their 2019 recruiting class on July 10.
According to 247Sports Composite rankings, Auburn is ranked No. 1, Texas A.&M is No. 2, Georgia is No 5 and Florida is No 6.
The Aggies will have two top-10 players in quarterback Chad Kelly and defensive end Shaq Thompson.
Auburys recruiting targets will be determined this summer after an extensive recruiting period.
The Tide have three players on the 2020 class, which is set for a class that is expected to be a top 10 class in the SEC.
Kelly will start at quarterback for the Bulldogs, where he will be the leader of a young quarterback class.
He will have a talented, explosive, offensive line led by senior tackle Alex Gall.
Thompson will play at left tackle for the Crimson Tide, where his athleticism and ability to play in space will allow him to excel.
The 6-foot-6, 325-pounder is expected be a first-team All-SEC performer.
Georgia is a team that is coming off a national championship run, and has been a hotbed of recruiting since the start of the 2020 recruiting cycle.
Freshman tackle Tashaun Gipson is expected as the top offensive lineman for the Dawgs in 2020.
Georgia also has two top recruiting classes in the 2019 class, with offensive tackle Anthony Walker and defensive tackle Jameel McClain both ranked as the nation’s No. 3 and No. 4 overall players.
Walker is the No. 5 offensive tackle in the 2018 class and the No 1 player in the 2020 cycle, according to 247 Sports Composite rankings.
McClain, a redshirt sophomore, is ranked as a No. 7 overall prospect and the top player in Georgia’s 2019 class.
