Former UConn basketball player and ESPN commentator Mike Krzyzewski is joining ESPN as a consultant for the network’s upcoming football coverage.
In an exclusive interview with The Hill, Krzyziewski said he hopes his insights will help ESPN grow and that he would like to work on other sports and media as well.
“I think it’s going to be a good fit,” he said.
“I think they want a place that is a little bit more connected to the national audience.
They want something that is connected to national news.
They just want to be able to go to a place where the network can connect with their audiences.”
The network recently started airing college football games.
ESPN has been airing more college football shows since 2015.
ESPN and CBS also will carry college football broadcasts in the future.
